Half of the country's family farming establishments are located in the Northeast and the state of Bahia holds 15.2% of the national total. In this scenario, Sertão Produtivo identity of the territory, located in this state, has its economy based mainly on family farms. Thus, this study aimed to characterize a sample of farmers Território Sertão Produtivo and challenges for agroecological transition. The study was performed with ten districts farmers, a total of twenty composing the territory by means of semi-structured questionnaire. The results indicate the predominance of the cowpea crop, cassava, maize and vegetables, pluriactivity is an alternative to supplement the income of farmers during the off season.
