O IMPACTO ECONOMICO DOS DESEMBOLSOS DA BELOTUR COM O CARNAVAL DE BELO HORIZONTE EM 2018: UMA APLICAÇÃO DA MATRIZ INSUMO-PRODUTO

Abstract

This study deals with the estimation of the economic impacts provided by the Belo Horizonte Municipal Tourism Company (BELOTUR) disbursements in 2018, in addition, it also aims to understand how the Carnival Event in Belo Horizonte, in the year 2018, intervened in order to understand the contributions coming from this holiday to local economic development, under the lens of expanding revenue, generating employment and income from the disbursements made by Belotur. Therefore, to perform this measurement, the used method was, and described as more efficient, was the application of the Input-Output Matrix. However, for the matrix construction it was necessary to analyze the published extracts related to Belotur expenses with the Carnival of Belo Horizonte of 2018 and to carry out a classification of the disbursements of Belotur with the carnival festivity by categories according to the National Classification of Economic Activities - CNAE 2.0. After these procedures, it was possible to estimate the impacts of Carnival, which resulted from Belotur's disbursements, which have shown very positive results in the various sectors of the economy, significantly increasing the values of Minas Gerais’ production, Minas Gerais’ value added, mass salary of the local population and also provided the creation of several jobs. Given this, the conclusion from this study is that the economic return of the disbursements made by Belotur with carnival in Belo Horizonte is positive, since the amount invested is replicated in a considerably larger amount in several sectors of the economy of the State of Minas Gerais.
