Recently, research activities in this area emphasize on computer based foreign languages teaching. In this paper, the basic concept of audiovisual technology for foreign languages teaching is introduced. According to the types of video information used in education process, the technologies are classified into three classes: using films; using video courses; using all other video information. The effectiveness and the quality of education are evaluated by means of two parameters: change of level of competence and students' satisfaction of training methods. Abstract
