Comparison is done between three-phase and five-phase induction motor drive with and without LC filter. The paper shows the simulation results using the MATLAB/SIMULINK of the three-phase and five-phase induction motors before and after adding the LC filter at the output of VSI. Abstract

In this paper, a five-phase induction motor drive system supplied using a PWM Voltage source Inverter (VSI) with output LC filter is discussed. The design and performance of drive system with LC filter connected at the output terminals of the PWM inverter is elaborated.
