Abstract

ZnO nanorods are grown on p-type silicon substrates coated with a light emitting polymer PFO. Powdered PFO is mixed in toluene and spun coated on the Si substrate and heated before growing ZnO nanorods on them. PMMA solution in toluene is then spun coated on the nanorods to work as an insulating layer and the tips were etched using oxygen plasma. With Au and Al metal being used as top and bottom contacts, we fabricate a hybrid light emitting diode structure.
