Abstract

Plane-wave scattering by a planar all-dielectric metasurface is considered. The associated boundary-value problem is reformulated in an integral form involving the layered medium's Green's function. Then, a rigorous entire-domain integral-equation methodology is developed for the accurate determination of the reflected and transmitted fields. Certain numerical results are reported, exhibiting specific metasurfaces, which can operate efficiently as narrow-band reflection filters. Connections to applications of controlling the propagation direction of electromagnetic waves are pointed out.
