Abstract
A direct sequence CDMA power control mechanism in a multipath fading environment is considered. The greatest attention is devoted to the additional interference in a RAKE receiver with a limited number of branches, i.e. the multipath "range" exceeds the number of branches of the RAKE, when an ideal power control on the tracked rays is assumed. Analytical expressions are derived under the assumption of relatively slow multipath Rayleigh fading and an illustrative numerical application is then given.<>
