Abstract
Two main topics were discussed in the muon and special detector parallel session: the design of a muon filter/identifier for a general purpose detector, and the physics requirements and possible implementation of hadron identification. As far as the first part is concerned, general design, active detector specialized reports and existing apparata performances were presented. Regarding hadron identification, both the need of such a capability for a general purpose apparatus, and possible devices were discussed.
