Abstract

A Disaster Response System is crucial for the safety of citizens. However, existing DRSs have often failed in securing major infrastructures and citizens' properties and lives. To remedy the limitations of current DRSs, many researchers have been proposed ways to improve disaster response, but do not successfully reduce the human cost of disasters. In this paper, we propose the HyDRS-WoT, an innovative DRS that allows people in a disaster area and the smart Things to organize disaster-responsive communities and cooperate with each other by leveraging Web of Things. Towards this goal, we propose an extension of WoT for dynamic cooperation among Things, called WoT-HyDRS.
