Abstract

Traditional event-condition-action triggers (active database rules) include a Boolean predicate as a trigger condition. We propose fuzzy triggers whereby fuzzy inference is utilized in the condition evaluation. In this way, approximate reasoning may be integrated with a traditional crisp database.
