Abstract

The advancement of the artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in recent years has enabled new technology-driven innovation in many fields in our society. The medical sector is one of the application field of AI that with high expectation for salient outcomes by directly influencing people's life-and-death matters. On the other hand, ethical problems pertaining to AI-based massive utilization of human health and biological data have risen as a new issue. In this paper, we report on the current status of the Japan's medical policies and a case study of a project for building an AI-based medical knowledge creation and information retrieval system aiming at achievement of change in people's health-related behavior.
