Abstract

A novel design of dc-bus voltage regulation using fuzzy logic is presented in this paper. The dc-bus voltage is regulated for a solar energy system which includes a bi-directional inverter, photovoltaic panels, a maximum power point tracker, and dc loads. In grid-connected mode, the bi-directional inverter can track the reference ac current signal. In rectification mode, the bi-directional inverter can control the power flow. A maximum power point tracker is designed by the perturbation and observation method. Furthermore, the fuzzy logic system is developed to control the dc-bus voltage for load variation.
