Abstract

We have implemented a predictive experimental tool to determine fluorescent lamp lifetime according to its operating conditions. This tool, based on an electrical measurement, provides an indication of the physical state of fluorescent lamps electrodes (hot cathodes). It may be used to shorten lifetime test and therefore to get a faster evaluation of the reliability of a given design. This paper shows the first obtained results and discuss the accuracy of the predictive tool.
