Abstract

To reduce train delays and the number of stranded passengers at stations in the case of strong wind, this paper proposes an integrated optimization method for the train rescheduling and stranded passengers reassignment problem. Through introducing a set of critical train operation constraints, we develop a mixed integer programming model with the objective of minimizing total passenger delay. Then, the optimization software CPLEX is employed to solve the proposed mathematical model. The effectiveness and the efficiency of the proposed method are demonstrated by a numerical example.
