Abstract
Nonlinear wideband light generation in the midinfrared using silicon photonics circuits can be key for emerging applications in metrology and sensing. Here, we experimentally demonstrate mid-infrared supercontinuum generation expanding from 2.5 µm to 7 µm wavelength in silicon rib membranes fabricated with silicon-on-insulator technology.
