Abstract

This paper presents a multi-central type 1 MW grid-connected photovoltaic inverter system, which consists of two 500 kW inverter panels that are composed of four 125 kW power stacks. In order to improve the reliability of large capacity inverter system, a new switching scheme is proposed. According to the proposed switching scheme, the possibility of arm-short is most minimized, and the dead time compensation is not needed. The detailed switching strategy of the proposed switching scheme and the major components design for a reliable commercial product are described.
