Comparison of circular patch antenna, with adding frequency selective surface, gain has improved from 7.169dBi to 10.701dBi and returns loss and VSWR are also improved. The main advantage of this antenna is improving the gain. Abstract

This Paper has designed for the frequency 5.8GHz. This resonating mode used for dedicated short range communication, RFID and Wireless Communication applications by make use of circular patch antenna and frequency selective surface. The proposed antenna has a circular patch with radius 9.8mm and dielectric constant RT duroid 2.2 is simulated. In this paper gain has improved by using frequency selective surface which contains a systematic arrangement of triangular shape on its surface.
