Abstract

Photonic Crystal (PC) comprising of dielectric materials placed periodically in one dimension are discussed in this paper. By introducing defects, light is forbidden to propagate inside the periodic structure, which will act as a mirror throughout. This property can be used to construct various application as we can attenuate any particular frequency band.
