Abstract

A portable information terminal(PIT) is designed and implemented for building disaster rescuing application. Based on MIPS processor Au1200, the hardware architecture and peripheral extension is expounded in details. Then the communication interfaces including ZigBee and MMS are designed respectively to acquire field information and exchange data with remote center. Based on Windows CE, the system software architecture is built up and device driver is implemented. The paper also gives some experiments related to the communication performance test. The experiment result shows that the system has strong function and high reliability.
