Abstract

A novel control strategy is developed for the operation of a series resonant converter (SRC) with a view to improving its dynamic performance. The converter uses bipolar transistor devices whose base drive logic is such that the device has properties dual to those of a thyristor. The control strategy for the converter is based on maintaining a constant conduction angle for the transistors in a closed-loop mode of operation.
