Abstract

Damage of open-top wagon bodies in service is an urgent problem. In general, it is connected with breach of requirements to handling operations. This paper deals with modeling cargo block falling onto the underframe of a blind open-top wagon. The data obtained on stressed-deformed body underframe in the result of shocks are of local character for the body structure. Normal stress values in underframe beam cross-sections depend on the cargo block falling place: the maximum stress - if there is impact on longitudinal support beams and the minimum - if the is falling on the joint of intermediate and longitudinal beams.
