Abstract

【Abstract】 Although optimization or heuristics-based approach have been used for the design generation purpose, these methodologies seem to be difficult to apply for design generation of steel connections since their types and patterns are too numerous. In this paper, we propose a design generation methodology using XML (Extensible Markup Language) and Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) and we have developed a prototype system for steel connections.
