Abstract

In the present world, innovation and technology creates, transformation in consumer behaviour, enterprises around the globe which makes the manufacturers to stay competitive. Any company who responds to customized needs of consumers is said to be great company. In such scenario, having accuracy in tracking and visibility of assets, Raw Materials (RM), Finished Goods (FG) in supply chain becomes of prime importance to any organisation. A multi objective, Raw material and Finished Goods tracking problem, in manufacturing industry is investigated. A prototype is developed to afford timely and effective solutions for this problem using Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Technology. Effective and on-time availability of RM and FG has significant effects on productivity and improved output in production operations and also to meet the customer demand. This RF and BLE are emerging technology which is yet to reach manufacturing companies. In this paper, a RFID centred monitoring system for RM and FG is introduced. The RFID technology, Bluetooth and Internet technology are utilized in remote monitoring of Status in the factory.
