Abstract

In this paper, we present Haptic Prop, a semi-passive, pico-powered, tangible prop, which is able to provide programmable friction for interaction with a tabletop setup, such as interactive workbenches or fish-tank VR. We explore the interaction space, its basic components, and constraints. Haptic Prop can be used to provide haptic feedback to the user at different levels and in different directions.
