Congestion occurs in wireless sensor networks when data packets flow towards a node where the node buffers are full or nearly full. To address these challenges we propose a newer congestion controlling algorithm which monitors the buffer occupancy and adjusts traffic rate to increase throughput and save energy. It detects the level of congestion based on two different thresholds. Abstract
