Abstract

A four-channel wavelength-tunable in-series DFB laser array with 100-GHz channel spacing is demonstrated. The reconstruction-equivalent-chirp technique is used to simplify the fabrication of the grating and achieve precise control of the grating phase. From the experiment results, the proposed laser array works with good single mode properties and high uniform channel spacing. Channel switching time of less than 1.2 μs is obtained by on/off switching of different lasers.
