Abstract

The decision to migrate actively involves women as they gradually take on increased responsibilities in running the households on their own, for the health and education of their children, and management of their funds and properties. The data collected was qualitative with a descriptive research methodology. In-depth interviews and case studies are the tools of research. The study’s findings reveal three types of effects on the women of these families. First is women’s autonomy, second revolves around financial hardship and increased responsibilities. Third, it is termed a consequence of weakening or strengthening the relationship between husband and wife.
