Abstract

The main goal in Norwegian educational policy is to develop students’ competency. In this article, we explore the possible blind spots in the competency turn in educational policy and how the dominance of competency influences the position of knowledge. Schooling and higher education politics are normally discussed separately, yet we attempt to regard the education system as a whole. The underlying question in this article is; now that competency has turned out to be the general answer in educational policy – what was the initial question?
