Abstract
This paper studies the feasibility of using chirp spread spectrum signals to combat multipath interference in binary digital communication systems over Rayleigh and Rician fading channels. The chirp system can be implemented using surface acoustic wave devices and can be made compact in size. Under also the influence of additive white Gaussian noise, the bit error probability has been successfully derived. Through numerical examples it is witnessed that chirp system can be used to greatly reduce the effect of multipath interference. The arrangement is quite attractive in deploying, for example, indoor wireless communications.<>
