Abstract

Since life of the optical disk was expected to be long from the very beginning, interest in life was high. This is proved by the fact that the special working group regarding life was established in the optical disk standardization committee in Japan. Long life was expected of the optical disk for data (computer), but life was not discussed much for the optical disk for consumeraudio&video use such as CD.
