Abstract

Microgrids are the main structures of a new model for electric power systems. These structures allow the participation of distributed generation, electric vehicles, and energy storage in the utility grid. Among the microgrid topologies, the hybrid AC / DC stands out. In this paper, the implementation of a solid state transformer (SST) using the dual active bridge (DAB) structure is used to build up a hybrid microgrid integrating photovoltaic generation, energy storage systems, AC and DC loads.
