Abstract

Because of the ever-increasing number of users, a communication system's power and spectrum effectiveness are critical to its success. To meet these system specifications, we examine Orbital Angular Momentum Multiplexing (OAM) and compare with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) for visible Light Communication (VLC). We implement OFDM and OAM variations utilizing Index Modulation (IM) in simulation for two users via Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) with Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) for MIMO VLC channel. For OFDM-IM and OAM-IM, the low complexity maximum likelihood receiver technique is used. In simulations, the performance of the proposed system's Bit Error Rate (BER) is compared for different values of Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNRs). The results show that by employing OAM-IM for a multiuser communication system, the data rate and error rate may both be improved.
