Abstract

A novel compact microstrip monopole antenna with coplanar waveguide (CPW)-feed is designed. The proposed antenna consists of inverted L-strip along with L shaped strip over conventional monopole antenna to lower the height and breadth of antenna. The space around radiator is saved by having ground that is vertically extended on either side of the antenna. The prototype with overall size of 23.2 mm ×22.5 mm ×0.8 mm achieves good impedance matching, constant gain, stable radiation patterns for the Wi-Fi frequency of 3.6 GHz.
