This heuristic algorithm takes into account three metrics: available bandwidth, propagation delay and packet loss probability. Abstract

The current Internet provides best effort service. In the best effort services the quality of service (QoS) perceived by a user is inconsistent and unpredictable. The QoS based routing provides QoS guarantees to multimedia applications and an efficient utilization of the network resources.
