Abstract

This article describes the results of a study of cholesterol metabolism in new calved cows with different levels of beta-hydroxybutyric acid in the blood. It was found that activation of ketogenesis occurs in cows with increased (4,03±0,10 points) and low (3,33±0,07 points) fatness and is accompanied by a decrease in cholesterol biosynthesis. In cows with no hyperproduction of ketone bodies, the highest cholesterol growth rate is found - at all stages of the study, except for the initial level, this indicator significantly exceeds the values of the second group by 12,9 – 19,1% and the third group by 9,6 – 13,0%.
