Abstract

With the Mercedes-Benz strategy update from “Electric first” to “Electric only”, the transformation into the emission-free future is accelerated and the focus is placed on battery electric vehicles. Beyond to the widespread radial flux machines, axial flux machines offer new possibilities for drive topologies due to their comparatively compact package. Due to the small axial package, they are for example an enabler for compact dual drives. Because of this, they are subject of this scientific work. The focus here is on rotor production technology development for embedded magnets.
