Abstract
One of the current methods of treating malignant tissues is by localized freezing in situ. Large blood vessels traversing or situated proximal to the treated region, present a “thermal perturbation” to the developing temperature field. This may prevent certain areas of the tumor from being frozen. Alternatively, there is also the problem relating to the freezing of the blood vessel wall and the blood flowing in it.
