Abstract
This paper describes a study of soft-switching [1]-[10] DC-DC converter using a power board. The DC-DC converter has a chopper circuit with a soft-switching of SAZZ topology. Advantages of using soft-switching are its high efficiency and high switching frequency, thereby reducing switching losses, while one of its disadvantages can be the complicated circuit. The power board, a printed circuit board whose wiring patterns are made of thick copper, is employed for its two main advantages. 1) It can flow a large amount of current and 2) it can have complicated circuits. This study examines a soft-switching DC-DC converter with a printed power board in terms of its efficiency, temperature fluctuations and inductance of printed circuit board which are evaluated and analyzed through experiments.
