Abstract

Innovation is one of the effective tools that countries use to increase their exports. Today, innovation has become the key to competition. Countries especially want to have a high competitive power based on technology by investing in R&D, spending more on education quality for qualified workforce, increasing their high technology exports, maximizing profits in the global market. In this study, it is aimed to compare the innovative performances of E7 countries, namely China, India, Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, Mexico and Turkey, in terms of their export-enhancing effects. In this respect, the export performances of E7 countries were tried to be interpreted with selected innovation indicators for the 2013-2020 period. In the light of the evaluations made on the basis of the aforementioned data, it has been revealed that the achievements of China, Russia and Mexico in the export of high technology products among the E7 countries are in paralel with the increases in innovation indicators.
