Proper distribution of loads will aid in the improvement of voltage profile of the system. This paper presents a novel meta heuristic method based on binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO) to find the best radial distribution network configuration with minimum node voltage deviation. The effect of inertia weight, position and population of swarm is deeply investigated. The proposed method has been verified on standard IEEE bus systems and node voltage deviation is minimized effectively.
