Abstract

A novel method to design patch antenna with computer-aid is presented in this paper. Smooth curve is used to generate the border of the patch antenna; and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is implemented to control the shape of the patch, which leads the result less dependent on designer's experience and more reasonable. Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) algorithm is used for electromagnetic simulation. The optimization of process is conducted on the parallel cluster to reduce computational time.
