Abstract

Soft QoS control and network resource management are key techniques to support adaptive multimedia services.We propose a novel adaptive multimedia service model based on application class and QoS grade and a new bandwidth allocation scheme for efficient and fair utilization of wireless network resource. Service performance, scalability and overhead issues are analyzed.
