Abstract
The Covid-19 epidemic has affected and is affecting all production, business, trading, and service industries around the world, as well as the education industry. Almost all levels of education, as well as many disciplines and specialities, have shifted to using online teaching methods on various platforms that fit both the needs of social distancing and the requirements of social distancing during the COVID19 pandemic, maintaining the continuity and minimizing disturbance to students and their learning. This study was carried out in a Vietnamese educational institution to explore lecturers’ preparation and perspectives towards the use of online teaching methods in physical education during the COVID-19 pandemic. On the basis of data acquired from an online survey given to all school teachers who have engaged in online physical education teaching, the author employed a simple descriptive statistical method for the data analysis. The results show that the vast majority of Vovinam lecturers at the studied context satisfy with their online teaching during the pandemic. Specifically, they are well-prepared before conducting online lessons. In conclusion, we need a high level of preparedness so that we can quickly adapt to the changes in the environment and can adjust ourselves to different delivery modes, for instance, remote learning or online learning in situations of pandemics such as Covid-19.
