Abstract
The paper offers a collection including all literary sources so far known, suggesting a possible connection between Giotto and the Avignon’s Papal court. Every valid theory so far formulated, is based on the Ottimo Commento to the Dante’s Commedia, which arguably deserves a critical edition.
