Abstract
Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication systems are used to increase the channel capacity or the data rate for a particular connection through multiplexing or to improve performance through diversity. In this paper, we present and study the performances of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-MIMO system using different forward error correcting (FEC) codes. Several constituent codes have been tested: block codes, convolutional codes and concatenated codes. The implemented system considers only QAM constellations, Rayleigh flat fading channels, no channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter and with CSI at the receiver.
