Abstract
A general outline of the organization of and trends in research on higher education in Norway was given in Higher Education in Europe [7]. The aim of the present paper is to discuss the state-of-the-art, four years later, according to the ten selected areas agreed upon at the Salamanca meeting in 1982. Areas of activity will be identified and a few examples indicating resulting insights and emerging trends will be given.
