Abstract
This article focuses on the study of modulation algorithms and implemented quality parameters of the output voltage and output current in a five-level voltage source inverter (VSI) with clamping diodes. Methods of implementation of space-vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) pulse width modulation (PWM) are considered. A new variant of the implementation of the PWM is investigated. In the Matlab/SymPowerSystems environment, a model of a five-level VSI with the proposed modulation algorithms was developed. The results of simulation in the form of energy characteristics and indicators of emission of higher harmonics of current and voltage to the load and supply network are obtained. A comparative table of energy parameters of a five-level VSI in single modulation mode and pulse-width modulation with different topologies is presented.
