Abstract
Zucchini stands out in theproductionofvegetablesdueto its nutritional, social andeconomicimportanceofmanyBrazilianfamilies, especially in familyfarming. Increasingthe N dose has a lowerlimit, increasingtheareaof thecalibrationplant, therefore, it hasaneffectontheproductionofsimulatedphotosand, consequently, onfruitproduction. However, twoexcess doses of N promotevegetativegrowthonthebreeder.Theobjectiveofthisworkwastoevaluatetheproductivech aracteristicsofthezucchinicrop as a functionofincreasingnitrogen doses, withthepurposeofpromotingthecropdevelopment in the region. The experimentwasconducted in anareaoftypicalpre-Amazonianvegetation, in a transitionareabetweenthe Cerrado andAmazonbiomes, at the Federal InstituteofEducation, Science and Technology oftheStateof Tocantins IFTO Campus Araguatins. A block design with four replicationswasused. The treatmentsconsistedoftheapplicationof four doses ofnitrogenfertilization (60, 120, 180 and 240 kg ha -1), as well as a controltreatment in theabsenceofdosage. The characteristicsevaluatedwere: fruitlength, fruitdiameter, branchlength, stemdiameter, numberofleaves per plant, yield, freshfruitmass, numberofcommercialfruits per plant, titratableacidityandhydrogenpotential. Nitrogenfertilization rates affectedalmostalltraitsevaluatedmainlyonyieldandfruitlengthcharacteristics. Regardingyieldthehighestaveragewas 30,325,250 kg ha-1 wasobtainedwiththe dose of 240 kg ha-1 N.
