Abstract
This paper describes the development of a family of GaAs MMIC frequency converter chips operating from 0.8 to 8 GHz with 20-35 dB gain. Details of design approach and product performance are reported. More complex subsystems, such as image rejection converters, phase locked loop sources, and complete receivers, can be designed using these converters as basic building blocks. These more complex subsystems are also described in detail.
