Abstract

We present the design and implementation of a TV-anytime compliant PDR (personal digital recorder) to provide personalized services according to user preferences and various terminal/network conditions. This paper mainly details a metadata engine which consists of metadata demultiplexing, metadata decoding, and metadata-based content browsing. The implemented PDR, employing the metadata engine, is successfully tested with a set of service scenarios in an end-to-end broadcasting test-bed.
